Privacy Policy for Arhong - Comment Exporter for YouTube
Last Updated: December 18, 2025

Welcome to Arhong - Comment Exporter for YouTube (the "Extension"). We value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how our Extension handles data.

1. Information Collection and Use
Data Scraping (YouTube Comments)
Local Processing Only: All comments and replies extracted from YouTube are processed entirely within your browser.

No Data Uploads: The Extension does not transmit, upload, or store the scraped YouTube data on any external servers. The data exists only in your browser's temporary memory until you download it or close the tab.

Export Formats: Data is converted to Excel, CSV, or JSON formats locally on your machine for your personal use.

User Identification (License Verification)
Anonymous UDID: To manage the daily free limit and Pro subscriptions, the Extension generates a unique, anonymous device ID (UDID) stored in your browser's local storage.

License Keys: If you purchase a Pro license via Gumroad, your license key and UDID are sent to our Firebase-hosted backend solely to verify your subscription status.

2. Permissions Explained
The Extension requires the following permissions to function:

activeTab: To access the YouTube page you are currently viewing so it can extract comments.

storage: To remember your Pro activation status and track your daily free usage limits.

host_permissions (YouTube): To allow the script to interact with the YouTube DOM for loading and extracting comment data.

3. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services for specific functions:

Firebase (Google): Used for verifying license keys and subscription status. Firebase may collect basic telemetry as governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

Gumroad: Our payment processor. When you purchase a license, your payment information is handled entirely by Gumroad. We do not see or store your credit card details.

4. Data Security
Since we do not collect your personal data or the data you scrape, there is no risk of your YouTube-related data being breached from our "servers." For license verification, we use secure HTTPS connections to interact with Firebase.

5. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
